A break from everything a mushroom is supposed to be
Most cubensis fruits in a few days into the familiar cap-and-stem silhouette. Enigma refuses. It is a sterile blob mutation, eternally stuck across a single generation, kept alive only through tissue cloning — an alien, brain-like fruiting body with occasional dark-cyan stains, as if to caution that it is oozing psilocin.
That refusal comes with power. The same tissue that never differentiates into caps concentrates tryptamines to roughly three times standard cubensis. In our jar builder it carries a 3× potency multiplier — meaning a gram of Enigma behaves like three grams of Golden Teacher. The character matches the strength: extreme visuals, fast ego dissolution, mystical and out-of-body territory.
We carry it as the deep end of the shelf. It is gorgeous and it is humbling — and it is emphatically not a beginner mushroom. Everything you would do for a heroic dose of any psilocybin, you do for an ordinary-looking gram of this.
The dose ladder — read it differently
These grams are the standard dried-cubensis ladder. Enigma is roughly 3× as strong by weight, so your gram count must drop accordingly — a "common" Enigma dose is a fraction of a common Golden Teacher dose. Weigh on a milligram scale, start far lower than you think, and never carry a Golden Teacher number across to this.

The deep current
Strong visuals, marked time distortion, the first reaches of ego dissolution. The equivalent of a strong standard dose — held in a fraction of the material.
Mystical territory
Unity, ineffability, out-of-body states and likely ego dissolution. A sober sitter and a fully prepared container are non-negotiable.
Complete dissolution
The dying-melting-dissolving-exploding of a heroic psilocybin dose, reached with much less material. Experienced explorers only, with a sitter and a held space.
These bands are deliberately conservative estimates of the standard ladder divided by Enigma’s ~3× potency — anecdotal, not clinical. Potency still varies batch to batch. The only safe approach is to calibrate low with a small test dose and wait the full onset before ever considering more.
What to expect
The arc is the psilocybin arc — come-up, peak, return, afterglow — but compressed and intensified. With Enigma the come-up is faster and the peak is steeper, so the discipline of surrender matters more, not less.
Come-up
Faster than a standard strain. Nausea, body load and a rising anticipatory edge arrive quickly — the medicine is already moving. Lie back, breathe, let it build.
Peak
Extreme visuals, profound time distortion and ego dissolution. Out-of-body and mystical states are common. If you meet something difficult, turn toward it: trust, let go, be open.
Return
The tide turns back to shore. Visuals recede, thought re-coheres, and a reflective, often awestruck clarity settles in. Treat the rest of the day as sacred and unscheduled.
Afterglow
Openness, gratitude and a felt reset, opening into a ~2–4 week neuroplastic window. Protect it — this is where a steep night becomes a lasting change.
Becoming your best self
The clinical evidence belongs to psilocybin as a molecule, and it is strong — but the depth that drives lasting change cuts both ways. Enigma reaches mystical, self-dissolving territory readily, which is precisely why it demands more preparation, not less.

The pharmacology, for the curious
Enigma runs on exactly the same psilocin pharmacology as Golden Teacher — the difference is entirely in the dose math. A mutation that never forms caps, stems or spores, it packs roughly three times the medicine into less flesh.
01Same molecule, more of it
Enigma is a stable mutation of the Tidal Wave cubensis (itself a B+ × Penis Envy cross). The receptor pharmacology is identical to any other cubensis — psilocybin → psilocin → 5-HT2A. What changed is density: it grows as brain-shaped coral instead of fruiting bodies, and concentrates roughly 3× the alkaloid. The chemistry is familiar; the gram-for-gram math is not.
02Why blue means strong
Psilocin oxidises to a blue pigment on contact with air and handling. Enigma’s deep cyan bruising in its folds is psilocin announcing itself — a visible signature of just how alkaloid-dense this mutation is. Beautiful, and a literal warning label.
03A prodrug your body activates
As with all psilocybin, the compound you eat is inactive until your body dephosphorylates it into psilocin. Form and preparation change onset speed — but with Enigma the variable that matters most is simply how much active alkaloid is in front of you, which is why eyeballing is so dangerous here.
04Tolerance — and the lithium line
Same 5-HT2A tolerance curve as any cubensis: near-immediate downregulation, ~7 days to baseline, one shared pool with the other classics. The amplified potency makes the hard interactions matter more, not less — never with lithium (≈47% seizure rate in co-use reports), never with tramadol or MAOIs, and never eyeballed.
